DescriptionThis file contains material concerning three exhibitions for which Ford either provided advice or loaned parts of his collection.

The exhibitions include:
-Thomas Jones (1742-1803) exhibition at Marble Hill House, Twickenham from 1 Jun-16 Aug 1970, and National Museum of Wales, Cardiff from 24 Aug-30 Sep 1970, for which Ford loaned one watercolour titled 'Penkerrig'
-Sir William Hamilton exhibition at the British Museum, Mar-Jul 1996, for which Ford provided advice generally and on the proposed loan of two Reynolds portraits held by the Dilettanti Society
-Grand Tour: Artists, Travellers and Tourists 1700-1850 exhibition at the Tate Gallery, Oct-Dec 1996, for which Ford loaned three paintings

Of particular note:
-47 reference images of Thomas Jones paintings from the 1970 exhibition, requested by Ford
-photocopy of the Thomas Jones exhibition catalogue, with handwritten annotations by Ford
-letter from Nicholas Serota, Tate Gallery, dated 2 Jun 1995, requesting the loan of three works by Thomas Patch, G B Busiri and Richard Wilson, from Ford's collection
