Description	This file contains research notes and some drafted texts created by Hayes which cover all aspects of Sutherland's work. Much of this work appears to relate directly to the 1977 exhibition of Sutherland's portraits at the National Portrait Gallery and Hayes' 1980 monograph (see JTH/2/5). The material in this file is as it was kept by Hayes and thus reflects his own system of filing for his research material.
