Admin/Biog HistoryThe Art Workers' Guild was established in 1884 by a group of British painters, sculptors, architects, and designers associated with the ideas of Augustus Pugin, John Ruskin, William Morris and the Arts and Crafts movement. Stamp joined the Art Workers Guild in 1973, as a graphic artist and designer. Over the years he had a number of roles including being a committee member and honorary librarian.

The Art Workers Guild held a centenary exhibition at Brighton Museum 29 Sep-25 Nov 1984, called Beauty's Awakening. Stamp contributed to the exhibition catalogue, and held an advisory role with Brighton Museum on the Guilds behalf.
