Admin/Biog HistoryThrough his role as Piloti, Stamp started the Sir Hugh Casson Award for the worst new building of the year. It was awarded annually from 1982 to 2017 in the "Nooks and Corners" column of Private Eye. Stamp named the award after Casson because he disapproved of Casson's practice of taking a fee to give evidence at public inquiries, to recommend the demolition of historic buildings.
