Admin/Biog HistorySchultz was a Scottish architect who Stamp began researching in November 1975 when he was asked by John Bute (the Sixth Marquess of Bute) to list the drawings at Mount Stuart comissioned by the Third and Fourth Marquesses of Bute, and designed by Robert Weir Schultz.

Stamp was commissioned by John Bute (the Sixth Marquess of Bute) to write a study on Schultz and his work for the Marquess of Bute, the essay was first written in 1977, and then published in 1981: Stamp, G. (1981) Robert Weir Schultz : architect : and his work for the Marquesses of Bute : an essay. Mount Stuart, [Rothesay]: [S.n.].
