Admin/Biog HistoryIn the 1970s Stamp was working at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), where he was working on the catalogue of the Scott family drawings, cataloguing the drawings of Scott Junior, Giles Scott and Adrian Scott; he wrote the biography of Scott Senior, and was responsible for the family tree and text on the Scott family.

Stamp's research into the family was extensive, and he continued to research the family throughout his career for a variety of activities including scholarship, journalism, campaigning, teaching and exhibitions. Stamp was also acquainted with members of the Scott family on a personal level, in particular Elisabeth Hoare (Betty) and Richard Scott (Dickie), with whom he often corresponded with concerning his research into the family.
DescriptionThe majority of files in this series were organised in untitled files or as loose material, where possible, the original order has been maintained. Where no order was apparent, the material was arranged and file titles assigned during the cataloguing process.

The files are organised according to the individual members of the Scott family, themes, or professional output.

Stamp regularly corresponded with multiple members of the family, in particular Elisabeth Hoare (Betty) and Richard Scott (Dickie). The correspondence is of both a professional and personal nature concerning recollections of family members, the location of original material, and Stamp's friendship with the family, and includes invitations to parties and anniversaries.
