DescriptionThis file includes extensive material compiled by Stamp, through his role as both Piloti and chairman of the Twentieth Century Society, relating to alterations to St Joseph's Church, Sheringham. It includes extensive correspondence exchanged between Stamp, and a number of individuals involved in the campaign to prevent the alterations and upgrade the listing of the building.

Of particular interest:

-letter from Billa Harrod to Stamp, dated 23 May 1990, informing Stamp of the plan for alterations to be undertaken
-letter from Peter Trower to Stamp, dated 22 June 1993, informing Stamp that the alterations are going ahead, with a copy of the parish bulletin attached, detailing the plans
-copy of letter from Anthony Rossi to Peter Howell, dated 26 July 1993, with Rossi's report and drawings for the designs attached
-correspondence exchanged between Stamp, Alan C Clark, and Canon E McBride, dated 7 Sep 1993-13 Oct 1993, concerning Stamp's reasoning behind why he opposes the alterations, and Canon E McBride's response in which he accuses Stamp of being a spy for the Victorian Society
-letter from Billa Harrod to Stamp, dated 21 Sep 1993, describing the alterations taking place within the church
