| Admin/Biog History | Sir James Lewis Caw, 18641950) was a Scottish art critic and gallery director. Introduced to the Scottish art world in the early 1880s by James Guthrie, Caw made significant friendships, in particular with some of the Glasgow Boys. In 1885, he began work at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, and in 1907 he became Director of the National Galleries of Scotland. Caw was also a member of the Scottish Arts Club. |
