| Admin/Biog History | Waterhouse was working on the 'Dictionary of 16th and 17th Century painters' at the time of his death. He had completed the manuscript and identified, from his research files on artists, a number of suitable illustrations. Following his death, the publication was completed with the assistance of Brian Allen, then Deputy Director at the Paul Mellon Centre. The book was finally published by the Antique Collector's Club in 1988. Allen retained the typescript draft in his office before passing it to the Centre's Library in 2002. |
