| Description | Waterhouse appears to have maintained two copies of his publication 'Preliminary check list of portraits by Thomas Gainsborough', Walpole Society, Vol XXXIII, 1948-1950. He has written on the inside front cover of one copy 'corrected copy' but both are heavily annotated by him often with different notes.
Filed within the 'Corrected copy' were 2 typescript addenda and a letter. In order to preserve this loose material, it has been removed from the volume and filed separately, but its original location in the text is recorded in the catalogue. |
