TitleThe Naked Pilgrim - Road to Santiago
Admin/Biog HistoryWag TV, an independent production company, was commissioned to produce a six part series about a modern day journey based on the Christian pilgramages undertaken in the middle ages. Sewell wrote and presented each of the programmes and filming took place in France and Spain over a five week period. In his autobiography, Outsider II: Always Almost, Never Quite, Sewell described his views on religion and the emotional experience of making of the programmes.

Martin Durkin was Executive Producer and Steven Green was Director for the series. The series was shown as: The Naked Pilgrim - Road to Santiago (2003). Channel 5, August 2003. It attracted Channel 5's largest audience for an arts programme and in 2004, won the prestigious Sandford St Martin Trust award for the best religious programme.
