| Admin/Biog History | The Sandford St Martin Trust is a UK charity set up in 1978. It promotes excellence in religious broadcasting and holds an annual award ceremony at Lambeth Palace. There are various categories for the awards, including radio/audio, television, children's, and interviews. Since 2006 the Trust and the weekly magazine the Radio Times jointly give awards to programmes chosen by readers of the latter.
Sewell and Wag TV, an independent production company, won the 2004 Premier Award for the six part series The Naked Pilgrim - Road to Santiago, shown on Channel 5 in August 2003 (related material can be found in: BS/7/8/1-2 - Television: The Naked Pilgrim - Road to Santiago). In January 2013, Sewell was approached by the Trust to be Chair of the television judges for that years' awards. The judging of the twelve shortlisted programmes was carried out on 1 May at the Trust's office in London and the awards ceremony took place on the evening of 3 June. The award ceremony was not televised. |
