TitleLectures
Admin/Biog HistorySewell gave many lectures about art, artists, and art history for various organisations over a twenty year period. He often used information from articles, books, and notes he had written in the past to create new lecture notes. Whilst a few sets of his handwritten or typed lecture notes appear to be complete scripts for him to read, Sewell sometimes only relied on a list of key points to guide him.
DescriptionThe material in this series includes:

-lecture notes
-research notes
-lists and printed images of illustrative slides
-correspondence

Some files do not contain any lecture notes. The only evidence that a lecture may have taken place is indicated by the title Sewell assigned to an A4 envelope and the material within it, e.g. a list of slides, images of slides, or notes. In such instances it has not been possible to identify the date and location and this is noted in the relevant catalogue descriptions.
