He recorded the names of artists, titles of works of art, and sometimes included details of the dates of purchases, how much each item cost, where they were originally bought from, how much they were sold for, and when and to whom or where they were sold.
He also used appointment diaries to record the dates and times of various visits he made to auction houses and sales. |
