TitleMaterial relating to Philip Heseltine
Admin/Biog HistoryPhilip Arnold Heseltine (1894-1930) was a British composer and music critic. He used the pseudonym Peter Warlock for his musical compositions, as this reflected his interest in the occult.

According to his 2011 autobiography, Outsider Always Almost: Never Quite, Sewell was in his fifties when Jessica told him that Heseltine was his biological father. In December 1930, she discovered she was pregnant with Heseltine's child and, as he was already in a relationship, he offered to pay for her to have an abortion. She refused this and shortly afterwards, Heseltine was found dead in his London flat. He had died of coal gas poisoning and the Coroner recorded an open verdict at the inquest, although Jessica believed she had precipitated his suicide.
