The letters, in general, tend to be orientated to family news or reports of Oppés life away from home, either while travelling or from school and university - there are very few from Oppé's later life as an art historian in London. They also contain matters relating to the First World War, in which Oppé's brothers Harry, Tom and Ernest all served. |
