TitleScott-Elliot, Aydua
Admin/Biog HistoryAydua Scott-Elliot (1909-2003) worked as Keeper of Prints and Drawings at the Royal Library at Windsor Castle from 1946-1969. She worked closely with Oppé while he produced two catalogues on the Royal collection (see APO/1/19 for further material on these). Scott-Elliot was also a collector of drawings and she donated 40 works from her collection to the Whitworth Gallery in Manchester in 1999. Towards the end of Oppé's life, in the mid-1950s, their close friendship had developed into companionship and they were planning to marry but Oppé passed away before this could happen.
DescriptionIncludes eight letters from Aydua Scott-Elliot, dated between [c 1934]-15 September 1948, concerning various personal matters and some mention of her own works of art. Also includes some examples of her works of art.
