| Description | Includes forty-one letters from Thomas Oppé, dated between 9 January 1894-27 March 1917, concerning general family matters, news from his life and studies as a student in Germany [c 1897-1898] and, later, his various travels. The letters from 1915 onwards are about his experiences during the First World War. He trained in Scotland and was eventually sent out to fight in France where he was killed in action.
Some of the letters include notes from Henry Oppé, Thomas' twin brother (for further letters from Henry, see: APO/9/35-36). |
