Title
'From the Black Books' (transcription)
Description
This 490 page bound volume includes transcriptions of extracts from the 'Black Books' (see: APO/8/2/1-118). The transcriptions were compiled by Aydua Scott-Elliot, with some assistance from Armide Oppé. The purpose for the transcription is unknown as is the criteria for inclusion, but it seems the focus was on the more expansive, candid and poetic material: general research notes have been ommitted. It is possible Oppé was involved in the selection of passages.
The transcription volume also includes some of Oppé's short fiction and poetry (on pp. 50-52, 445-490) which has been taken from a separate set of notes (see: APO/2/8).
