| Admin/Biog History | Henry Sigismund Oppé (1880-1915) was Paul Oppé's brother, and a twin with Thomas Armin Oppé. Henry, known only as Harry, shared many of Oppé's academic interests, including an appreciation of art and an interest in literature.
In 1893, he accompanied Paul, along with Tom, their sister, Ida, and mother Pauline, on a long trip to New Zealand. Paul's travels continued onto Japan and Sri Lanka, while the rest of the family returned to England.
Harry served during the First World War and died while fighting in Turkey in 1915. |
