TitleMynors, Roger
Admin/Biog HistorySir Roger Aubrey Baskerville Mynors (1903-1989) often cited as R. A. B. Mynors, was an English classicist, textual critic, and medievalist who held the senior chair of Latin at the universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

Educated at Eton College, he read Classics at Balliol College, Oxford and spent the early stages of his academic career as a fellow of the college. Nicolson and Mynors became acquainted when the former enrolled at Balliol in 1933 to study Modern Greats. In August 1934, Nicolson made the decision to transfer to study History so their paths crossed less frequently. The majority of the correspondence in the file was exchanged in 1934 and is best read alongside the diaries of this period.
DescriptionIncludes correspondence of a personal nature concerning Nicolson's progression at Oxford; arrangements for a trip to the chalet belonging to 'Sligger' Dean of Balliol, at Chamonix; the death of Roger Fry; mutual friends and arrangements to meet.
