Title'Creative Writing 1960's-70's'
Admin/Biog HistoryPetherbridge experimented with creative writing whilst she lived on Sikinos in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and again towards the end of the 1980s. None of the work was ever completed or published.

Recurring themes throughout the work include everyday life on Sikinos, politics, and Petherbridge's exploration of experimental writing, influenced by friends Alan and Carol Burns.
DescriptionThis file includes creative fiction written by Petherbridge, including short stories, plays, childrens stories, and novels, in various stages of completion. All of the works are in draft form, and there are several loose notes and fragments of drafts included. Some of the drafts also include illustrations by Petherbridge.

Petherbridge organised the material and separated it into files, and these separations and file titles have been maintained. However, drafts pertaining to the same work are scattered across the whole file and so it is recommended that the whole file is consulted to ensure completeness regarding a specific work:

-Novelle Vague
-Fragments
-Mana Amalia
-Uglug
-Letters from Sikinos
-The Mandra
-Untitled Play

Please note that some of the drafts in this file contains references to suicide, domestic abuse, and sexual assault. The drafts also contain harmful and outdated language relating to race and intellectual and developmental disability.
