| Admin/Biog History | Throughout her career Petherbridge delivered many lectures on various subjects such as public art; the relationship between art and architecture, and drawing. Petherbridge was approached by academics, various societies, teaching staff at various art colleges, and museum and gallery professionals to lecture at events, conferences, and symposiums. |
| Description | This series contains lecture texts written by Petherbridge in relation to work carried out in a freelance capacity. It does not include lectures delivered by Petherbridge in any of her teaching roles, including at the Royal College of Art or the Architectural Association. The series also includes a small number of articles & essays written by Petherbridge for a variety of initiatives.
Whilst some lecture texts are complete scripts, some are simply brief notes alongside lists of images or slides, reflecting how Petherbridge delivered the lecture.
In accordance with the original order of the material, in most cases, the invitations and correspondence surrounding the lectures are filed separately in the Annual Files series (DSP/1). However, occassionaly lecture texts, draft articles and essays can be found within the Annual Files alongside the correspondence. Where this is the case, it has been recorded within the relevant files.
The material in this series has been organised chronologically. In some instances, it was not possible to identify the exact date of a lecture, essay or article & where this was the case, estimated dates were established by the cataloguer based on wider knowledge of the collection, with rough dates provided in square brackets. Where it was impossible to provide even estimated dates, material has been brought together in single 'undated' files.
