| Admin/Biog History | Vivien Lowell, Director of Public Art Commissions Agency put Petherbridge's name forward for a competition to design the Concert Hall doors and organ screen for Birmingham International Convention Centre (ICC).
In June 1988, the NEC (National Exhibitions Centre)/ICC Committee accepted Petherbridge's design and commissioned her to carry out the organ screen for the concert hall. However, there was difficulty in finding suitable materials and hanging gear for screening the organ and displaying the design prepared. Therefore an alternative commission was offered to Petherbridge in Mar 1990, to commission a design for the Drum Wall in Symphony Hall. |
