| Admin/Biog History | Petherbridge visited India again between 18 Oct-17 Dec 1987, for a second British Council organised lecture tour, which coincided with her 'Temple and Tenement' exhibition tour around India. She visited place in Southern and Eastern India, including: Hyberabad, Madras [Chennai], Delhi, Calcutta [Kolkata], Santiniketan, Bombay [Mumbai], Madra, Pradesh, Sanchi, Gujarat, Kanara [Canara, Karavali] and Kerala.
During the tour Petherbridge took part in the Henry Moore Symposium in Delhi, lecturing on Moore's influence (or lack of) on sculptors who were currently working in the field of monumental and public art.
At the end of the tour she visited Australia for a month before returning to London. |
