| Admin/Biog History | Petherbridge and her partner Guy spent three months in Ireland in 1977, whilst Guy was working at the Chester Beatty Library, they spent time living in Bray and then Dublin. Whilst in Ireland, Petherbridge was interested in Ireland's vernacular architecture, in particular water wheels. She believed that whilst in Ireland they were both under police surveillance, because they had just got back from travelling in Libya. She published her research in the article ‘Expressive Monuments of Industry and Order: Early Industrial Architecture in Ireland’, Architectural Design, Vol. 47, Nos. 11-12, 1977.
