The book is a commissioned survey of contemporary art in public places in Britain, and is a guide to who commissioned what and why.
The book was published by Art Monthly in collaboration with the Arts Council of Great Britain and the Crafts Council. Petherbridge authored four chapters, and was a member of the editorial board, alongside Peter Townsend, Peter Dormer and Alister Warman.
In Petherbridge's oral history (C466/152, Deanna Petherbridge, Artists Lives, British Library), she states that there are a lot of errors in this publication, including who the author of each article is, it is unknown which chapters/authors these are. |
