Title1980-1982, 'Art & The Sea'
Admin/Biog HistoryArt and the Sea was an independently organised series of exhibitions of contemporary art, themed around the use of the sea. Different parts of the exhibition toured different galleries throughout 1981 and 1982. In 1980 over five hundred artists working in Britain submitted work on the theme of the sea, and nine gallery directors, from six coastal towns and cities, selected their exhibitions. The galleries that took part were:

-Third Eye Centre, Glasgow
-Sunderland Arts Centre,
-Bluecoat Gallery, Liverpool
-Open Eye Gallery, Liverpool
-Liverpool Academy of Arts
-Mostyn Art Gallery, Llandudno
-Southampton City Art Gallery
-Arnolfini, Bristol
-Institute of Contemporary Arts, London

Petherbridge's work was exhibited at the Third Eye Centre; Mostyn Gallery; Southampton City Art Gallery, and the Arnolifi.
