| Admin/Biog History | The 'Deanna Petherbridge, Retrospective exhibition', was held at the Whitworth Art Gallery (WAG), University of Manchester, 2 Dec 2016 4 Jun 2017. The conversation around the exhibition began in March 2015, when Bryony Bond, Exhibitions Curartor, University of Manchester, visited Petherbridge's studio to discuss the possibility of an exhibition. In September 2015, the exhibition was agreed, but part of the confirmation letter detailed that the Whitworth Art Gallery was unable to support an exhibition catalogue to accompany the exhition.
As a result of this Petherbridge commissioned an independent monograph (Griffiths, A. (preface by.) et al. (2016) Deanna Petherbridge : drawing and dialogue. London: Circa.) to be published by David Jenkins of Circa Press, and to be distributed by Thames & Hudson with financial asssistantance from a family member and an anonymous architectural donor. The reproduction was undertaken by John Bodkin, DawkinsColour; the design by Herman Lelie; and the publication was printed and bound by Livonia Print in Latvia. Initially Petherbridge ordered 1000 copies to be printed but only 572 were delivered, as many books were damaged during production.
At the end of 2015 Bryony Bond left WAG for a job in Leeds, and it wasn't until July 2016 that Poppy Bowers filled the post.
