| Admin/Biog History | Petherbridge visited Thailand (4-19 Aug 2001) and Australia (20-31 Aug 2001), whilst in Australia she was the Keynote speaker at the University of New South Wales' conference: Drawing Connections: The Role of Drawing in Contemporary Art & Design, 24th - 25th August 2001.
There was also an exhibition which accompanied the conference, in which Petherbridge exhibited four drawings:

-Self Portrait: Double Vision II, 2001
-Under Bankside, 1996
Whilst in Australia she also visited the faculty of Art & Design at Monash University, in Melbourne, to talk to students, see their work, and give a lecture. This connection with Monash University led to Petherbridge being offered an artists residency, 14 Jul-25 Oct 2003. Whilst in Australia in her role as Artist in Residence at Monash University, Petherbridge took part in two conferences:
-Drawing Connections II: Personal Practice, Cultural Context, College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, 25th - 26th July 2003
-Australian Council of University Art & Design Schools (ACUADS) Annual Conference, University of Tasmania, Hobart, Australia 1st - 4th October 2003
She also had an exhibition of her work at Monash University, 'Two Cities Two Modernities Drawings by Deanna Petherbridge', 9 Oct- 14 Nov 2003, and after her residency ended, she returned to London via Sri Lanka.
Whilst undertaking her residency in Australia, Petherbridge lent out her flat in London to her friend Anna Ward. |
