DescriptionA two-sided letter from John Verney to Nancy Tennant dated 10 June 1979 thanking her for lunch at her home and explaining how he was enclosing a typed transcript of letters he had sent during the Second World War in which he describes meeting Humphrey Waterfield and accompanying him on a trip to Mount Hermon. He goes on to explain how he had been fighting near to Damascus just prior to writing the letters and how Waterfield and Robin Fedden were working with the Friends Ambulance Unit. He also notes how pleased he had been to see Waterfield's paintings on his visit to Tennant. Found inside the front cover of the journal at DHW/1/4/2 - Africa and the Middle East: 1941.
