| Description | A letter from Ann Kempe to Anthony Waterfield dated 7 November 1945. It explains that Waterfield's brother's journal had been found by a Norwegian soldier in the back of an abandoned ambulance in Norway, then passed on to a Swedish friend of Kempe's called Erik Wiklund [Widlund], who in turn gave it to Kempe's husband. Kempe asks for an address to return the journal to. On the reverse of a letter is a brief handwritten note that appears to be from Anthony Waterfield to Humphrey Waterfield in which he says 'The story of this diary is rather remarkable'. |
