| Admin/Biog History | Edward Horsman Coles was a close friend of Oppé, and a fellow collector of British watercolours. When Coles died he bequeathed a large part of his collection to Oppé - these works were added to Oppé's collection and were assigned the catalogue numbers 2501-2700. Oppé conducted research on the works bequeathed to him, building on the notes also left to him by Coles in 1954. |
