| Description | The establishment of a Nursing Committee was provided for in the hospital's constitution, and from the annual report it is clear the committee existed from 1919. However, this is the only surviving minute book of the committee. The book is just under half full with 43 pages of manuscript minutes.
The minute book records the dates of meeting, giving details of those in attendance and those absent. Subject discussed in the minutes include; employment conditions and pay of nurses, both staff and probationers; approval of appointments suggested by medical committee; nurses uniforms and badges; nurses grievances; punishment of probationers and nursing supplies. |
