| Description | According to the 1838 by-laws the registrar was ' generally responsible for the care of the premises, for the property of the Institution, for the superintendence of the Tradesmen, Labourers and porters of the house', and he reported directly to the board of governors. The registrars book contains a record of the issues reported by the registrar to the governors, these include staff appointments, salaries and privileges, the supply of food, fuel and other items to the hospital, especially their quality and price, and the care and upkeep of the building. The book contains copies of orders from the board of governors and other committees where they impact on the duties of the registrar. The book also contain financial accounts with tradesmen, and the monthly and yearly accounts of the hospital. |
