| Description | This section contains the printed annual reports of Sir Patrick Dun's Hospital from 1866 to 1960, with the years 1900 to 1903 missing. The first two volumes have additional earlier items relating to the history of the hospital bound with the reports. The reports contain lists of Governors and staff, they give details of admissions, cases and hospital finances. Appendices contain lists of subscribers and donations, and abstracts of income and expenditure, lists of qualifying nurses, army midwives and maternity statistics. From 1880s the reports contain additional reports on the training school for nurses and midwives, the hosptial's surgical and medical reports, and reports of the linen guild. Black and white photographs and drawings are also included from the 1890s onwards, mainly of the Hospital buildings, although occasional there are portraits of prominent benefactors. From the 1900s additional reports of the ear, nose and throat department, x-ray department and pathological lab begin to appear. Between 1914 and 1920 the reports contain details of doctors and nurses who served in World War I and the roll of honour erected to their memory in the hospital.
The reports for the period 1866-1957 are bound into volumes, those after 1957 are individual unbound reports. |
