| Description | Wooden case with a leather handle on top and a roll-up door with lock and keys, containing a binocular microscope made of metal and brass by Carl Zeiss. The case features internal storage compartments, including a removable section secured by a detachable wooden piece. The microscope comes with an incomplete set of objective lenses, some of which are contained in the storage case. Metal components for the stage are missing too. A printed card of instruction is also present. The microscope belonged to Dr Joan Marie Mullaney, one of the first female pathologists in Ireland, and was presented by her daughter. |
