Despite the signs of wear and tear, the black ink writing on the lid can still be read: "Langdale's Compressed Cinnamon Tablet. Registered. An effective and reliable remedy and cure for infuenza. Each tablet contains twenty drops of Langdale's concentrated medicinal essence of Cinnamon. Dose- One tablet twice or three times daily. Prepared only by E. F. Langdale Essence Distillery & Laboratory. 72 & 73; Hatton Garden, London, E.C. Copyright Label -- Registered".
Langdale still produces cinnamon essence. Cinnamon tablets are often used as a dietary supplement, as it has been traditionally used to help with digestive issues. |
