TitleClover's Ether Inhaler
Date1900-1949
Creator NameBarth & Co, Medical Equipment Manufacturer, -
Fannin, Medical supply company, 1829-
DescriptionThis is a Clover's Ether Inhaler, designed by Dr. Clover in 1877 and manufactured by Fannin. It features a nickel-plated metal reservoir for holding liquid ether and a rubber mask covered in brown leather.

The reservoir can be filled through a screw lid on the side. Additionally, there is a rotating handle that adjusts the opening of a tube, with a pointer and scale (marked 0, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4) to control it. The tube allows ether vapours to flow to the mask, and the handle regulates how much the tube opens, controlling the amount of ether the patient inhales. It also features "Geo. Barth & Co London Sole Makers" on the body, and "Made in England" on the mask.

Signs of wear and tear visible.

Originally, it included a re-breathing mask, but later modifications, such as Hewitt's, involved removing its use.
