| Creator Name | John Weiss & Son Ltd, Medical supply company, 1787- |
| Description | The mahogany wooden case with brass details opens by pushing the two buttons on the bottom of the case, which unlocks the lid. Once opened, the case is covered in blue velvet. The lid features three brass clips, and the shape of a dissecting saw can be seen impressed in the velvet (though it is missing). The base of the case features compartments where four dissecting knives are secured out of the original eight. The knives have patterned vulcanite handles engraved with "Weiss London" and metal blades also engraved with "Weiss London GR."
The kit also includes a tourniquet made of brass with a red cotton belt, and a small dissecting saw with wooden handles by an unknown manufacturer. The velvet covering the base of the case is damaged. Towards the locking mechanism, "Weiss & Sons Improved Air Tight Case 62 Strand London" is engraved. |
