DescriptionThis is a Noyes' Eye Speculum, as designed by American optometrist Noyes. It consists of a long, U-shaped metal piece with curved and blunt tips, which are inserted into the eye. On the other side, there is a set screw attached to a tension and dilating spring. This mechanism ensures the adjustment of the tension and dilation of the eyelid, whilst keeping the eye open. The U-shaped body also features small lateral finger grips.
