DescriptionThis is an artery forceps, made of stainless steel by Fannin, as engraved. It is the Spencer Wells type, composed of two screw joint shafts, with two finger rings on one end blunt tips on the other. Towards the finger rings there is a ratcheted mechanism to secure lock. Each tip is features a horizontal pattern which helps grasping the tissue. In addition, it is engraved with "Made in England" and "Fannin Dublin" on one shaft.

Invented by Sir Thomas Spencer Wells in 1879, this type of forceps is still used in various surgeries, where there is necessity to grasp, hold, and block the blood flow of arteries.
