DescriptionWinners medal of the Dublin Hospitals Rugby Cup awarded to A.C. McVittie as Captain of the Sir Patrick Dun's Hospital team. Silver. On obverse: in the centre, the image of a man sitting on the crest of Dublin City, holding an angel in his hand, around which are the words: "DUBLIN HOSPITALS FOOTBALL UNION"; the edges decorated with shamrocks and thistles. Engraved on reverse are the words: "WON BY/SIR PATRICK DUNS/1898/A.C.McVITTIE.Capt". Also the maker's marks for James Fenton & Co. (Birmingham) and Moore & Co. (Grafton Street), and hallmarked Birmingham 1897. Suspension loop at top.
