DescriptionSilver mounted glass claret jug of cylindrical form, the hinged lid cast with boar finial above a strapwork and scroll border interposed with masks. The glass is etched with foliage and fruit design and has been damaged and glued back together. The inside of the silver lid is stamped with the maker's initials "JCE", the number "1407" and London hallmarks for the year 1856, and the rim is inscribed "W.R. WILDE. To his Friend WM. STOKES."
