| Description | Framed half-length portrait of Alexander Jackson (c.1768-1848) Oil on canvas. Irish School, 19th century. Nameplate on frame reads: "ALEXANDER JACKSON/M.D., L.R.Q.C.P./Hon. Fellow./DIED MARCH 19TH, 1848, Age 80 yrs." Jackson was physician to the Richmond Lunatic Asylum at Grangegorman where he made many improvements. He was appointed State Physician in 1803. |
