Date1925-1975
DescriptionThis is a mouth gag of the Doyen-Jansen or Molt type. Used to prevent the mouth from closing during operative procedures of the mouth or throat. Its ratchet mechanism allows the mouth to remain open during the surgery, reducing tissue damage, and its curved front design allows for traumatic handling inside the mouth. There are two India rubber sleeves at the very tips of the blades.Inscribed is "C.S.H. 7" and "CHROME" along with a circled F. The number 22 is inscribed on of the grip-locks.
