The file includes the following: reports of meetings of the Cherry Orchard Hospital Visiting Committee and the Medical Social Service Department from the 1960s and 1970s; copies of articles on medical subjects written by Dr Christopher Joseph McSweeney, Medical Superintendent 1934-1953; an article entitled 'Justice!', which offers an account of a hospital inquiry and dissolution of the Board in 1944; an article by Doreen BD Kingsmill Moore entitled 'The Building of a Hospital, 1804-1940' (reprinted from The Irish Journal of Medical Science, January 1941); a copy of Dr McSweeney's Short History of the House of Recovery and Fever Hospital, Cork Street, Dublin (1945); and the hospital's annual report for the year 1998-1999. |
