| Description | The Association of the Members of the King and Queen's College of Physicians was founded in 1816 'for the purpose of more intimately uniting the Members of the College, and for the advancement of Medical Science', regular monthly meetings were held from October to May, a President, Vice-President, Treasurer and secretary were appointed to run the association, and the association also maintained a library which members contributed to. The Association ceased in 1864, and was reconstituted as the Medical Society of the College of Physicians of Ireland, along much the same lines. A President, Vice-President, Secretary and Council oversaw the running of the Society, with regular meetings being held to discuss medical cases. As with the association membership was limited to members of the College, but visitors could attended if they were members of the medical profession. The Society had no Library, but members were given rights to access the library of the College. The Society was dissolved at the end of the 1882-1883 Session, and its function was replaced by the Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland, see RAMI Collection
