Description	Papers relating to the decision of the Poor Law Commissioners to recognise the Certificate of the Apothecaries' Hall as equivalent to a medical degree or license from the College of Physicians when making appointments to poor law hospitals and dispensaries. File contains a copy of a letter from the College to the Chief Clerk of the Poor Law Office laying out the College's objections to the decision (1863). A copy case for opinion submitted by the Poor Law Commissioners which found that the Apothecaries' certificate was not equivalent (1864). Also two memorials to the Lord Wodehouse, Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, one from the College and one from the Senate of Queen's University asking that the decision of the Poor Law Commissioners be changed (1865). File also contains a letter relating to a decision of the Commissioners not to appoint candidates under 23 years of age (1861).
