| Description | The 1692 Charter allows the College to create by-laws and ordinances to better regulate the governance and activities of the College. By-laws have to be passed by the College, and from the late 19th century those relating to Membership and Fellowship had to be approved by the Government. This section contains copies of by-laws and papers relating to their creation.
From the seventeenth to the late nineteenth century the by-laws were listed by the College, each new by-law being given a number, this lists can be found in RCPI/1/2/1 and in Dun's Book RCPI/1/1/2. However, from the late nineteenth century the College began to publish copies of their by-laws, issuing new editions when a significant number of changes had been made. These printed by-laws can be found in RCPI/1/2/4. |
